I just got my MCAT score and now I'm ready to put together a school list. I have a strong upward trend in GPA. I got an F in statistics during my freshman year but I have done well since then. I got an A+ when I retook the course so my DO GPA might be higher after grade replacement. I also got As in all of my ochems, gen chems, and physics sections. My MCAT score is:
Chemical and Physical Foundations: 127
CARS:123
Biological Foundations: 127
Psych and Social: 125
I am a Florida resident. I have lots of shadowing hours, clinical experience, and good extracurricular activities. Can anyone help me put together a school list for DO schools? I have no idea where to begin and would appreciate any help. I am open to MD schools if I am competitive enough. I have already applied to FSU for MD and Nova for DO.
Thanks in advance!

The MCAT might be in striking distance for FSU, FAU, FIU and UCF.

For DO schools, start with the two in FL, then work outwards: ACOM, Wm Carey, all three VCOMs, KYCOM, LMU, PCOM-GA, CUSOM, etc.

Thank you for the advice! So I will have a better chance of getting accepted into these southeastern schools as opposed to something in the northeast? I just would like to know what kind of factors I should keep in mind when making a school list.

For DO's you'll be competitive for many all over the country. But those southern schools do in some cases show bias to the south which is why Goro recommended them.

The 27 MCAT on top of what is equivalent to a 7 in verbal/CARs will hurt your MD chances a fair bit. Best is to apply to the Fl schools Goro recommended. If you want a couple other to consider NYMC, WVU, Oakland and Quinnipac might be worth a look.

Thanks for the reply. I have applied to the schools that Goro recommended and my MD state schools. This adds up to about 16 schools. Do you suggest adding a few more DO or should I add the lower tier MDs?

Maybe Oakland, Quinnipac, Western Michigan and NYMC. Can't really recommend too much else though unfortunately.
