3.6/33 GPA/MCAT; Schools to look at?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Hey. I'm in a similar boat stat-wise. Assuming you have the rest of the basics (some shadowing, volunteer work, clinical experience, maybe research), here's a tentative list to start with:

Penn State Hershey
Temple
Drexel
Wake Forest
Georgetown
UNC
UMD
VCU
Thomas Jefferson
UVA
George Washington
Tufts
BUMC

Since you know your GPA and MCAT, you can come up with a list of schools where you're competitive at using RASM's LizzyM feature: http://rasm.lmao.cf/

Basically, rule out all schools that are colored red, and then narrow it down further by removing OOS-unfriendly schools.

A lot of good ideas so far. I personally would avoid GT and GW. They get like 13000 apps annually = very low acceptance rates (unless of course you have ties to the area or have a compelling reason to attend. Also, take off UNC - very competitive for OOSers.

Check out the following
Loyola
Rosalind Franklin
Einstein
Medical college of Wisconsin
U of Arizona
Quinnipiac
New York medical college
Creighton

.. I have similar stats to you two, check out my MDapps.

This should probably go in the "chance me" forum?

Besides that, I like @xerei 's list. UVA and UNC would be more of stretch schools, while the rest are closer to your range, giving a good mix. I would add a few lower-stat schools and maybe 2 or 3 DO schools as well.

Agree with the list of schools. TBH, i'd apply to a BUNCH, and choose later which ones you don't want to complete the secondaries and/or go to for interviews. better to have choices than none at all. I do disagree witht eh DO schools, unles you believe in the philosophy and/or have done some DO shadowing.

APPLYING EARLY AND BROADLY WILL HELP YOU A LOT. AND DO YOUR RESEARCH ON SECONDARY APPS.
