Hey SDN,

I'm starting to apply to med schools and need some help focusing my med school search to schools that are attainable (and maybe a couple reach schools). I am not too worried about my EC's:

- 2 research positions with 1 lead author publication
- 3 years of leadership on a club team
- 400+ volunteer hours as an EMT

However I am worried about my gpa as it is pretty low for the schools I would like to apply to (Boston, Pitt, Duke, etc.). Furthermore, there is no real trend to my GPA (if anything, it is actually a slight downward trend). Any thoughts on schools I should look into? I am not URM and am a NC resident.

are those your only ECs? Did you do any nonclinical volunteering with underserved populations? any shadowing?

those are the main highlights of my ECs. I also do some nonclinical volunteering with underserved populations and currently do not have any shadowing, but will have roughly 50 hours by the time I apply.
