Looking for some advice on my chances, specifically to schools like Tuts and BU School of medicine, also interested in GW..

My MCAT score is a 34R (10P 13V 11B), took it once before that and got a 28Q. My sGPA is about 3.6 and my cGPA is 3.7. Going to Northeastern for udnergrad.
I'm a psych major and have 6 months of full time research experience at Mass General where I worked on a medication based research study. Also spent 6 months full time at a group home for clients with psych and substance issues and spent 4 months full time at an in-patient psych hospital working with patients and got certified to distribute medications in Mass. Volunteered at MGH for a year and shadowed a primary care physician for a few weeks as well.
For leadership experience, I on the e-board as Secretary for the pre-med club and I'm the communications chair for the Husky Ambassador program (a part of admissions). Also, spent a year as President of what we call Hall Council (not that i think this will make a difference on an ap). By the time I apply I will have spent a week volunteering at a childrens hopsital in Little Rock as well. Also volunteered at the church near my school for two years.

Im not thinking the very top tier of schools but I am hopeful to get into the ones I mentioned above at least....any advice or words of wisdom??

You should not be applying to Egyptian schools. Bad idea.

BU is reachable w/ your stat.

You won't get into Tuft's if you can't spell it correctly.

forgot no one on here has ever made a typo before

Stats-wise, all of them are within your reach.

Download this google.doc spreadsheet data, so you can fill in your own stats, and it will tell you for which US med schools you’re competitive. Next look at the out-of-state matriculation data before you do further research on each school for “fit,” removing any from your list that mainly serve in-state students: https://spreadsheets.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AmKVGWwobG5GdEx2MjlBTDE0bXFXNGFZczZqYTZKb2c&hl=en_US#gid=0

Based on your research experience, can you shadow psychiatrist or neurologist? I think having that letter of recommendation for AMCAS would be helpful.

Overall, you have a really good story there (I'm talking about the picture, not individual stats), so if you can write good essay, you will be okay. Northeastern is fairly good school, so that's a plus too. Any thoughts on taking courses on neuroscience (just wondering)?
