Let's say if I have around average MCAT and some decent but not extraordinary EC's, with a 3.7 GPA, what are my chances of getting into medical schools in California (especially UC's)?

Average or less than average considering the average GPA ranges from 3.7 to 3.9 depending on the school.

If you are a member of a special population group that a school wants represented in its class, that might help you get into one of the MD schools. Though an MD acceptance might not otherwise work out, I'd think you have a decent chance at one of the two DO schools.
