Would dental schools highly favor 3.9 GPA applicant over 3.8 GPA applicant? Is 0.1 point GPA huge difference that would affect adcom's decisions?
Or Are they considered to be equally academically qualified by most schools?

Let me double check the math there: 3.9 - 3.8 = 0.1. Yes, there is a difference; precisely a 0.1 GPA difference... Considering the average dental school student entered with a ~3.5 GPA, yes both are academically qualified by most schools.
