So far only applying to UK/U of L

150+ hours of service, Habitat for Humanity and Free Clinic.
Countless Clubs, a few leadership roles.

I did this thing called Rural Scholars. They have some set up with Louisville that sends you to this other hospital for 3rd and 4th year in an attempt to keep people in Rural/underserved areas.

Should I apply out of state?

The likelihood of getting into anyone one school is extremely low. Your GPA is okay, but I would really urge you to consider sitting this cycle out.

Retake your MCAT and apply next year. Apply BROADLY, not to just one school. There is such a low chance of getting into one particular school. I would not be in school right now if I had only applied to the school I wanted to go to most, but I am so happy at the school I ended up at.

Your MCAT is below average for MD schools and it's so late this cycle that you would probably end up saving yourself money, stress and time if you re-took and applied next cycle.

If you just must apply this year, you definitely need to apply BROADLY and out of state and consider DO schools if you haven't.

Edit: I don't know much about schools in Kentucky. If they accept people with 25 MCATs often or are extremely preferential to to in-state applicants you may consider applying this year and adding some out of state and DO schools.

i know what you are talking about with the louisville thing, but its like only for 10-12 people or so... you're not even on the 10th percentile for the mcat, so you need some ridiculously great life story and be a hispanic/african-american which i doubt you are.

your gpa is great dude, but u'll likely not get a interview from u of l and def not from uk... retake the mcat and get at least AT LEAST a 27 to have a chance. just my 2 cents though, i don't work in admissions or anything
