Hello, I posted here a few weeks ago, and I recrafted my school list. I still need some help picking my last few schools that may afford me the best chances possible this cycle. Below is a refresher on my profile:

  1. 3.96 cGPA and 3.9 sGPA (not sure about this, just an estimate since AMCAS hasn't calculated mine yet)
  2. 510 (128,125,129,128)
  3. Illinois resident
  4. Asian ORM
  5. Attended state school
  6. Volunteered at a hospital for 250 hours (clinical)
  7. Research experience in 2 different labs; Had around 80 hours of experience in the 1st lab, where I did my senior capstone; Had around 510 hours in 2nd lab (4 summers) which resulted in a Co-first author publication in a national conference proceeding (SPIE); the 1st lab was microbiological research, and the 2nd was ENT research.
  8. 80 hours of shadowing in the US with a Neurosurgeon (surgical consults) and Sleep specialist; 160 hours of shadowing abroad in CT surgery, EM, Neurosurgery, Gastro, Surgical Gastro, Ortho, and Nephro (all both surgical and outpatient)
  9. Activities Volunteer at an Alzheimer's/Dementia Care facility for 280 hours and ongoing (non-clinical).
  10. Started a service organization at my school to allow commuters to get more involved in their community. Some activities I led include organizing clothing drives for homeless shelters and passing these clothes out in the city, as well as fundraising supplies for underfunded schools in the city. (Categorized these as 80 hours leadership)
  11. Summa cum laude, Dean's list, PBK, highest departmental distinction in neuroscience, 3rd-degree black belt TKD
  12. I know I'm not very competitive for top schools, but I'd be more than happy attending my state school or another mid-tier. I will be applying all MD, with possibly a few DO later in the cycle depending on the circumstances. I need help picking ~5-6 more schools for my school list below. I have a WARS score of 65, and a LizzyM of 70. Please do not suggest Indiana, as I do not want to attend there. I also prefer schools with a P/F curriculum at least preclinically, as well as those who do not have extremely long secondaries to your knowledge.

TLDR: Sorry for posting again, but just want to make sure I pick my schools very carefully to give myself the best chances possible this cycle. I already incorporated some of the schools Faha recommended last time, but I'm struggling to find the last few that I might be missing and are a good fit. I don't want to add any more low-yield schools if I don't have to as I already have 5-6 on this list, but if there are any mid-tiers or low tiers that I'm not aware of yet, I'd greatly appreciate if you could recommend them to me. Thank you!

Not really a school suggestion, but 4 summers and 510 hours doesn't really make sense unless you worked like 3 weeks a summer.

I never said I was full-time or went every day of the week.

Depending on where you live in IL , SIU might not be a realistic choice. They draw their students from a very specific geographic area.

True, I read this on the site. I live closer down south in the state, which seems to be where they accept the majority of their students from. I know a lot of kids from the northern suburbs apply, which is the region they tend to take very few from.

Right. If you are South of I80 you are in a good area. Good luck.
