you know those annoying chapter(s) in Cliffs AP (the one about plants and all their hormones, etc). I was never able to learn that stuff well enough to recall it, so 2 days before the test, I read that chapter.... twice I think.
I sat for my DAT a couple days ago and I something that I am glad I did was look over the mnemonics list http://forums.studentdoctor.net/showthread.php?t=42149. There were two questions from the bio section that I am pretty sure I got right because I read over the mnemonics page a couple times. The bio section is random and a good amount of the questions are worded in a way that most people have not learned the information or the questions are in application format. Like the SAME-DAVE mnemonic helped me with an application question I had.
Something I wish I had done was looked over the actual function of some pretty common enzymes at least once. And not just where they are found, or where they are produced. I mean like some of the enzymes released by the duodenum or in the muscles. It's been a few years since I had physiology, so I did not remember what the actual function was. Everyone talks about random questions being on the test. I had a couple random questions related to the human body's digestive, reproductive, musculoskeletal, and neurological system. Not hard questions, just different.
i reviewed all of my problem areas in the last few days before the test and i think it really helped....except i wish i spent more time on QR! it's good to have that fresh in your brain...if i could have a do-over i would have made QR the last subject i studied for!
also, don't go "all out" in last couple days, give your brain a breather! you don't want to feel burnt out
