You can apply to more schools, but going up to around 50 would be a waste of money. It is very likely you can remain in-state, and another issue might be interview skills since your app got you interview invites at 100% of the schools you applied to.The SC schools are the only ones I applied to. To be honest, I really want to stay in state, so I figured I would only apply to instate schools this year, and if it doesnt work out this year, I'd apply to like 50 schools next year. It looks like wanting to stay in my own state was probably a bad idea lol.
The bad semester was my senior unfortunately. So the trend is downward, but if that semester never happened, it would be a horizontal line with zero trend. Thats why I decided to do an SMP, where I got a 4.0 last semester, and will probably get like 3.8 or 3.9 this semester. I thought my MCAT being above the average for all three schools and doing well in an SMP would help me, but wow it seems like it really didn't 🙁
That could definitely be the case. There are also always some SC residents who will end up leaving the state, which can open up additional spots.Yeah I've heard that before and I'm praying it comes true in my case! I also think (I'm just assuming this) that there is significant overlap between all the students with interviews at the three in state schools, so as more get accepted, more will drop their spots from the other two schools. Does that make any sense? Does it even work like that?
