Hi all,
I took my DAT last week and my overall science grade was a 19, which I feel isn't good enough (3.7 GPA, but still want to play it safe).

Do I definitely have to wait 3 months to take it again? Is there any way to waive that? What is the purpose of waiting 3 months?

Lastly, would my test in 3 months be completely different from the one I just took? Does the ADA make up a new test every 3 months or something? Basically, I felt my test was very basic and my studies were far too general (as in, I was studying things that were too advanced). Can I expect the same type of test in 3 months?

Thanks!

You honestly have above average stats. If you applied to 15> schools, I'm sure you'd land atleast a couple interviews. They won't make any exceptions, you will have to wait 3 months. Just apply broadly and see what happens. You could try contacting the school and asking them if you could do a retake and send them the scores immediately. The test is always different. I have heard of people having really hard questions compared to some who say it was very basic. They choose the questions out of a huge word bank randomly. If I were you, I'd go through the basics first-start off with Datqvault then do Bootcamp..If you really want a retake though.. I wouldn't waste my time if I were you unless you didn't hear back from schools.

As stated above, the waiting period is 90 days, no way to get around that, ADA policy.

Yes, different test, there are multiple versions and you will get a different random one, and of course you can expect the same relative difficulty.

Well yeah, I'm not expecting the same questions 🙂....but it's good to hear that the difficulty is consistent.

Do you know the reasoning behind the 90 day wait? Just curious.
