3 or 4 LORs

I've assigned 4 LORs to my residency programs. 3 of those are complete. Should I just deleted the fourth one to make the entire application complete or do programs really care if they have already gotten the 3 they require?

The last one is a SLOR for EM and required by most programs so that makes things a little more complicated I guess.

Are you applying to EM? If yes, are any of the other three letters S-LORs?

I think you answered your own question. If you NEED that letter, than you need that letter. Get your app in now, get the letter later. When I submitted my ERAS I didn't have my step 2 score in but received a lot of interview offers in the first two weeks (ie: with an incomplete app). If you don't NEED the letter, delete it and send three. I only sent three letters in total because I knew they were all strong and having a fourth would be a waste of time.
