Would 3 semesters of Bio be enough to apply to most med schools (particularly those around North Carolina and the surrounding states)?

Recently changed my plans so that I would graduate with 1 semester of intro cell and molecular bio, BIO150, as well as 2 semesters of anatomy and physiology (BIO311 and 312). I would also have biochem.

Sorry for the rrally specific question, just curious. I purchased an MSAR subscription but I cant seem to get a clear answer.

Thanks for your help!

Your good. Just take the MCAT and prove your decent at Bio (125+ in the B/B section).

Respectfully disagree regarding your statement that 125 is a threshold for proving adequacy in Biology/Biochem. Yes, AAMC has regarded that as an adequate score for passing the USMLE Step 1 but remember that a lot of schools use the MCAT in a manner similar to a measuring contest in a men’s locker room.

I would shoot for at least a 127, if not higher.

I remember reading @Goro saying that it’s the most important section at their school.

I would say that 125 is the bare minimum to consider applying to MD schools. It may not be competitive, but you will not be DOA due to a 126 necessarily.
