Hey everybody,
Here is my dilemma: I have finished all my interviews and have not yet been accepted.

I thought all my interviews went fairly well, but all I seem to be getting are waitlists. Currently, I am on the waitlists at Med Col Wisconsin, Creighton, and Meharry. I was wondering what you guys think of my chances of getting in ? Right now, I just need some words of encouragement and stories of people getting off the waitlists. This is also my second year applying and I was really hopeful about getting in this year. Do these schools take a lot from their waitlists, or just a few. Also, when can I expect to hear from these schools regarding a possible acceptance ?
Stats: 3.9/29/Out of Stater

AH! FINALLY someone else in MY shoes! I'm on 3 waitlists too (still haven't heard back from my forth interview...knowing my luck I'll get waitlisted there too!)

Waitlisted at U of Florida, Florida State, Eastern Virginia...possibly South Florida.

Stats: 3.9(well, 3.86)/28/in-state for all but EVMS

Hey Cobragirl,
Wher did you graduate from, and is this your first time applying ?
I wish you luck at those 3 schools.
I graduated from UF last May.

Hey,
Just thought that I would add my experience. Although I have been accepted to two osteopathic schools, I too am on three allopathic wait/alternate lists.

The schools are Loyola, Wayne State, and Michigan State CHM.

It sucks, but I'm sure that one of our three schools will eventually call us. It just might be really late in the process.

Good Luck

Graduated from U of West Florida in August...first time applying.

Ace,
I'm a WI resident with a 3.8 and a 29. I did not even get an interview at MCW. May I ask when your application was complete, and why you think you got an interview? I will most likely be reapplying next year, and I want to increase my chances of admission.
Thanks

guppy -

I am a WI resident, I got into MCW after being rejected on the first try. When did you apply? where did you go to undergrad?

Hey Guppy,
I sent in my secondary to MedCow in Mid/Late July. It was one of the first applications that I completed. I applied there last year as well and did not receive an interview. So this is my 2nd year applying (maybe that's why I got an interview.) I hear they look favorably upon reapplicants that have improved their applications, because it shows sincere interest in the school. Yeah, If you have to apply again, I would recommend that you apply as early as possible.
I know if I don't get in anywhere by June 1st, I'm sending out my AMCAS application that day.

Your chances just improved, I released my MCW acceptance yesterday. Your stats aren't much different than mine, either. Luck.

Twister,
I don't remember exactly when I applied, but I think I sent my AMCAS in June. I took the August MCAT, and I think that may have been part of my problem because they didn't get my scores until Oct. I will be graduating in May from Marian College in Fond du Lac. Maybe I should have gone to a bigger school, but I know someone graduating from Marian this year that was accepted to MCW. I have heard that it is easier to get into MCW than UW, so I was surprised to get an interview at UW and not MCW. Did you apply to UW?

Hi Guppy,

For two years in a row, I have applied to (among many) to both UW and MCW. I think they are both about the same to get into, UW might be slightly harder, but UW's standards for interviewing are much lower than MCW's (it's a big push to be more well-rounded). I have more info, but I think it would be best if we continued this discussion via email, as it gets fairly specific... if this okay with you, please email me.

Cobragirl, did you apply to miami?

Yes, I applied to Miami....haven't heard a word. When I call, they say I'm "in review". I know they quit interviewing in a few weeks so at this point I've pretty much written them off....

Hey Cobra. I'm in the same boat. Miami told me that they stop interviewing March 18. Haven't heard anything yet.
