I submitted most of my secondaries on the 1st of July and have yet to hear back from any of the schools. I’ve applied to TMDSAS schools only. When should I start to actually be concerned? I see people receiving invites now and it’s hard not to freak myself out!

Not at all! Keep occupied and check your emails and junk mail folders daily.
You could get interviews any time in the next 6 months.

I'm no expert on the Texas system but for everywhere else, I have my Thanksgiving Rule which is that you can't complain about a lack of interviews until after Thanksgiving. That's why it is called Black Friday. 😉

Seriously, it can take months to pour over thousands of applications and make a few hundred interview invites. When the invites will be for 3-4 months from now, you won't get them now because of the high likelihood that something will come up and some applicants will need to reschedule which is a time sink for admissions staffers. The best practice is to make the invitations not more than 4 weeks in advance of the date. So, even if you are queued for an interview, if there are hundreds ahead of you just by luck of the draw or the alphabet, you might not get an invite for months even though your likelihood of converting that interview into an offer is just as good as someone who gets one earlier.

Patience is a virtue, the need for instant gratification is not. It's only the middle of August.

Not picking it on you, green, but a lesson to sdners is that it's not a good mindset to be thinking, "I sent it on my secondaries where are all my interviews???"

No I appreciate your honesty. It’s definitely something I need to work on and this process is a good start.

This is really helpful, thank you for sharing!

SDN isn't so bad but this is part of the reason why I don't like websites like admit.org or cycletrack since it provides a very biased representation of how many people are actually getting II's at this stage. I have a hard time following this rule, but I'd take a break from SDN, reddit, admit.org, cycle track etc. for the time being.

You will be fine dont worry. Worst comes to worst you can just apply again. I know many reapplicants who have been very succesful and have gotten in. I even know someone in real life who got in on the fifth try ! Theres no limit so keep moving forward
