I'm taking my DAT soon and wanted to get a general feel for whether or not people would recommend doing the 30 min tutorial before the test?

Can you choose to do it and then just click through everything in like 5 min or does it actually take 30 min? I figured I may take it just so I wont be as nervous once the real test begins.

even tho you dont need or feel like you dont need it... take it... get the feel for the computer... get use to the new ...sometimes stuffy environment...depending on the number of ppl in the center... most important of all use the time so you can at least calm your nerves... you dont have to use all the 30 minutes... its as long as you need to get thru the tutorial... i used about 5 minutes of it then ...click click click ...bang... started the test! 😀

thanks, thats exactly what i wanted to know, i will take it for sure.

Like Boogaking said, take advantage of it. The tutorial takes probably 5 minutes max to do. When I took it, I followed the advice of a friend and got near the end of the tutorial, then leaned back, closed my eyes, and relaxed for about ten minutes. Take a deep breath, clear your mind. It helped to unwind because I was so danged nervous going in there.

Other people will suggest that you use the time to do a "memory dump" and write down any formulas you may need for QR or Gen Chem. Check out some other threads for ideas. Good luck! 👍

ya, it's a good idea to prepare your scratch papers in that time! good luck !!

Yes, take it. It helped to calm me down, and gave me time to right now some formulas on the scrap paper.
