Hello Gents and Ms. Ladies,
I have recently come to realize that I may be screwed when applying next year to medschool. The reason I took this year off is to wait for my actual immigration status to become something that gives me a permanent residency aka a greencard. But it looks like, thanks to the snail pace of the immigration department, it might not even be done by next year.
Currently I have an extremely weird status that allows me to live, work, and go to school in the US indefinitely, a Withholding from removal status from a asylum case. So I went to four years of highschool here in CA, I have been going to UCLA now with an exemption from nonresident fees due to my status. But I don't know how well I will fare when dealing with medschools with my scores.
Here is my MDapplicant: http://www.mdapplicants.com/viewprofile.php?myid=9879
which lists my numbers and ECs. I have been told that if I were to have to apply as an International student, I would have an easier time getting into private schools. Does anyone know if I would be competitive for schools and if so should i exclusively apply to privates? Thanks again.
