Anyone have any knowledge/experience about this group? They are coming to our area to potentially take over a surgicenter. Did a search on these forums and couldn't find anything.

Where are u location. Like what region?
All these no name companies are just shell companies trying to make profit off of thin air

There is very little profit anymore for any management company or even private practice after paying employees. They just hope to take the cash and the 10-20-% profit and jet when the going gets tough

Like Apollo md took over surgery center in Florida that usap said was not profitable. They were gone in like 10-11 months. They hired drunk alcoholic unreliable anesthesiologist cause he was cheaper. My friend covered for $425hr locums.

So they will try to find the cheapest guy or gal off the street to replace u. Stand ur ground. If u don’t like the offer. Leave.

I'm in upstate New York - thankfully it's an area not many people want to be. I've been in practice for almost 20 years and I've saved my money. The advice on this forum has been instrumental over the years to prepare for moments like this. Bring it on.

Just another shell small company
It’s just business these days. They take the contract. Pray to make a little money off anesthesia

Except there is razor thin margins in anesthesia. Anyone willing to take on surgery center contracts without guranteee not to lose money is an idiot. I’m sure they have a circuit breaker in their surgery center contract not to lose any money.

Labor costs are so high with anesthesia. No one is willing to take a lost.

Thanks. I've heard through the grapevine that they are willing to take a loss the first year - I think these companies do this just so they can infiltrate new territory. Our group really is not willing to risk that kind of loss, nor do we have extra staff, so if they get the contract, so be it. No matter who ends up there, staffing is going to be challenging and expensive.

No many do….short term. Even big losses. This is the playbook. Take a loss for one year just to get contract. Then they come back and hammer them for big gains. Overall gain for the one year loss, they use debt/leverage of course.

Nope. My sister place has 32 asc contracts now. Mega group. 4 hospitals.

Almost a de facto amc themselves where she was a full partner.

They have circuit breakers in in everyone of their ASC contracts with min income dictated. Min hours charged per site.

The facility eats the cost these days.

I guess u can take a 300-500k lost per site a year ….i don’t see 360 doing that.

You have some very insightful and accurate things to say sometimes big other times you are just spouting false truths. Highlighting extremes.

Your sisters groups playbook…what..who cares…she’s not usap, Napa, Northstar, team health, or any of these.

But I can 100% tell you this is what an amc will do to get a contract. Take a small 6 figure loss to get a contract for 1-2 years, then when they know they have the leverage, turn around and negotiate for more.

When you’re using debt..this is a sound play (no pun intended).

I’m sure you’re on some Cush home call locums assignment right now making $500/hr covering 2 hospitals and doing nothing. And every anesthesiologist can just pick up the phone and find these jobs all the time.

If you pride yourself on making so much money and having so much free time..why are you always on here posting on a very little viewed forum

Because I examine contracts from time to time. People do message me

Northstar isn’t taking a lost at 3 surgery centers im credentialed at. Neither is usap at 2 surgery centers I cover.

No one is gonna to take a lost in this market.

And yes. I am seriously evaluating an ortho surgery center right now. I don’t want to be on the hook for crna compensation. Way too risky.

The days of taking on money losing contracts have been over for a while in order to gain market share. That only worked when amc could contain salaries within certain area.

Taking on debt at 11% interest on a small business loan to take on a money losing contract is not a good idea either and that’s one of the guys did. I’m like wtf are you doing. So the are losing money plus paying 11% interest. Smart. Right?

Yes. Some big amc could take on debt. But amc are not interested on doing it these days. It’s subsidy plus asking the center to fully fund 100% of locums fees for x amount of time

If you really think Envison is losing money in Ft. Lauderdale to gain market share. You can keep thinking that way. Broward is eating all the costs of locums.
