39T, 4.0 GPA...What else do I need?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
If you can manage to not sound cocky in your interview while listing these things off I would be impressed. Congrats on a great application.

Why? Whyyyyyyyyyyy!?

well... you should definately make it clear in your personal statement that you will not submit to a background check.

Just another way to stand out beyond the "numbers".

HOLY S*** you guys are a bunch of d-bags.

Just because the OP has a great MCAT/GPA does not mean anything.
You all can assume he/she does not have a life because of great stats, if thats what makes you feel good about yourselves not being as good.
I wish I had the same stats.

OP, your stats are good. However, the only thing I see missing are spectacular ECs, which is not really something you can work on now. Basically, if you can't get in with what you have, you can't do anything to improve it in time, so I wouldn't worry about it.

EDIT: The only reason I am holding back from making that assumption is because I know a 38/4.0 who has more of a "life" than most other people I know.

While I appreciate your attempt to stand up for the OP, I feel that I must point of that this thread is from last year. You are correct in that good stats don't mean no life, but it's not worth arguing a lot of the time.

I'm curious, how did this guy/girl do? Is this person in med school yet?
I wish there was a section on these forums where people can post if they made it or not. 🙂
But then again, some people may not want others to know that they got rejected or what school they're going to.

the OP pointed out that he/she is applying for the 2010 cycle, so yes, this is perfectly debatable. And I stand by what I said before: retake the MCAT and score 40+. It's really the only reasonable thing to do

I think the reason he/she posted this threat is to show off and crush us 20M and 3.0 GPAers 😀 kakakka,

love u guys' comments! 😍.

All you need is to relax ! Congratulation on your good work, OP.

on paper, you're pretty much awesome man..like some others have said, my only advice is not to come off as a hotshot/tool at your interviews..just be yourself and don't try to be too formal with the interviewers-- that way they get a look into your true personality..honestly, w/ those #'s and a good interview, you should be competitive for a scholly in addition to an acceptance ..gluck 👍

great advice. a guy at my school that applied last year had 3.9 - 37 and didn't get in anywhere. he was also a complete douche. he got about 5 interviews and must have blown them all. just don't be too full of yourself at the interviews

Were you posting this topic to just make us feel bad or show off? 😳
Either way, you are a qualified candidate in terms of your credentials and background work. Good luck!
