I'm currently a second year med student at St. George's University in the Caribbean and will be starting my 3rd year shortly.

The way it works is that we do the first two years of basic sciences in the Caribbean, take (and pass) the USMLE 1, then we are placed for all of our rotations in the US or UK (our choice).

My question is whether anyone knows of any hospitals/programs in California that allow 3rd/4th year students to do their rotations without being affiliated with a particular med school?

Thanks

some schls only allow folks from US/Canadian med schls to do it though.

Ah, good point. I'd just go through the various California schools and see each one's website for more info, I guess.
