Hi, I took DAT twice already. and I made a same score(AA 18). Yeah pretty horrible...
Well anyways, I seem to cannot improve on PAT at all(although it was the part that I worked on the most).

First time around, My QR, RC was good score but science was ok. So, I decided to take the exam again(August 29th) and my science improved but my QR and RC went down. The reason is that I was freaking out over Science section I took that I could not concentrate. I know it was a huge mistake to let myself be stupid like that. Any advice? I asked each school i applied(3 schools in Texas), and they told me that

"We will maybe give you an interview if your previous scores are competitive, but if not, after we receive your new score, hopefully you are competitive enough. We will still review the new score though" (That's not word to word what they sent me but that is basically the response i got from each school)

So if I retake it (99% yes), do i need to send the score by fax ? (since it'll be late november before they get it?) I really need some advice about whole PAT thing.. agh.. I just can't think 3D..............

Could you post a breakdown of the two DAT's?

Without that, we are all guessing based off the AA even though you reported the trends.

Schools love a high Bio, PAT, RC, OC and can do without a great score in QR and GC.

Where did you pull this information from? I am aware of QR not being as important, but where did you discover GC being weighed lower than the other sciences?

Directly from four dental school admissions officers and a dean at two of them. Not to mention a pre-health advisor who has been helping people get into dental school for over 20 years.

It made perfect sense as they all said they saw a trend in worse GC then the other sciences therefore it has become more common place. In all consideration, it does affect your TS/AA therefore you will lose out to some degree. I didn't mean that it's a walk in the park even if you bomb those sections 🙂 .

And in my personal experience, 4 out of the 6 people who were all accepted had mediocre GC scores (ie. 17-18). But had strong GPA's, great overall DAT, great letters of recommendation and a biology degree.
