Are you considered incomplete if your transcript does not include 3rd year grades? In my haste to get my application in early, I got a transcript from my school apparently before these grades had been officially recorded. The coordinator where im rotating now pointed out to me that she did not have my surgery or medicine grade on file and could not give me an interview until she had them. Im having my school fax a transcript here, but as for all of the other programs I applied to, are they the same way? Am i just screwed since many of the application deadlines are passing and they wont accept an updated transcript? 😕

I'm sure sfmatch will distribute the transcript for you. get it asap and overnight mail it to sfmatch; they'll send it everybody and I'm sure the programs will accept it!

hmmm...I never sent in an updated transcript either.

Alleyesonme, I'm curious to hear if you sent in an updated transcript as you obviously are not having any problems obtaining interviews 🙂

So you didnt include 3rd year grades either? I know youve gotten an interview or two yourself already right? So maybe its not like this everywhere...i wonder if i should just start emailing coordinators asking if they need the updated version.

Yea I received an invite from Baylor and I know for a fact that my transcript was missing a grade.

Quote from the CAS Manual:

"Please note that programs are aware that your medical school transcripts may be missing grades. You must send your most recent transcript with your CAS application package. Updated medical transcripts can be distributed later as a supplemental document."

I was planning on submitting an updated transcript upon release of my Dean's Letter (so that it would include some 4th year grades too)...but maybe its a better idea to submit it now...

I had this discussion with my dean's office before I sent my application materials to SF Match. The transcript I sent was NOT updated, but DID have all my 3rd year clerkship grades (we finished 3rd year in March). However, when I asked them how to get an updated transcript, my dean's office said that 4th year grades would show up in the dean's letter, and that they could not provide me with an updated transcript. So....I will not be sending an updated transcript, unless someone asks for one. I am not sure what the answer is if the transcript you sent does NOT have your 3rd year grades (but I suspect as cubs4 said, they probably need it). Hope this helps, and let me know if you have any additional questions.

Well, i was able to get a copy of my transcript in a pdf file that i emailed out to all my schools. I just hope i havent been passed over for interviews at some places already because of the missing grades

Did you try to contact any programs to determine whether or not this whole missing grade thing was an issue, or did you just send in your updated transcript presumptively?

Well trying to figure out who needed what would have been double the headache; also it was friday and i was getting a lot of those "i am out of the office" replies...so i just sent it out assuming that if they needed it then they would now have it and even if it isnt required, it cant hurt to send an updated transcript.

Yeah, i think I would've done the same if I were in your shoes. Good luck with that, cubs.
