I have currently have 1 week which seems to be packed, one on Mon, Wed, Thurs.. all in the same city (home city). I was contemplating adding another one on Friday.. so it would ultimately be 4 in 5 days. (I just hope that they dont pop 'pre interview dinners' on me).

Do you tihnk that is too much? The reason I ask is that I'm taking 3 weeks just to interview and want to get them all over with then, but would like to leave other times free for long distance interviews should they come up (and can be more flexible with my travel schedule). Besides these three weeks, I have some core 4 year rotations (that i could probalby take a day or two off.. but anything more than that would probably be looked down upon.. and want to save those for last minute interviews if I get any)

Sounds pretty exhausting (ie, being "up" for 4 consecutive days) but its doable if they are in the same city. You'll get to go back to your hotel room and decompress if there aren't any night before dinners.

I can beat that..I have 5 interviews scheduled one week in jan.
Tuesday thru saturday. Two in pittsburgh, two in nyc the last in philly. All but two of them have dinners the night before.
I'm not worried, yeah it will be exhausting, but compared to being on trauma surgery q4 call...cmon 🙄

I've got 4 in 5 days in three different cities (less than 2h travel between them though. Dinners before 3 of them. And a 30 minute presentation to give at the last one.

Can we say BURNOUT

MrBling,
you can do 4 in 1 week if they are in your home city. It will be tiring but with the schedule you have set up (i.e. being "off" on vacation) you should be able to do it. You have to know yourself though, and what you are capable of. To me it doesn't sound that awful b/c you don't have to deal with driving, flying long distance, etc. For me it was the travel that was really exhausting, more than the interviews themselves. But then again, internal medicine doesn't really do "stress" interviews and they need a lot of interns, so I never felt like I had to be the very best person in the room or they wouldn't take me...just have to be in the top half or so.
