Hello everyone,

So I am interested in doing my Residency in one particular hospital close to home. I already spoke with the Residency coordinator and the secretary in charge of the electives. They were very nice and helpful. I am planning to do most (if not all) of my 4th year electives in that particular hospital. However, now I'm wondering if that's a bad idea. Especially when I apply to other places and then they notice I did all my rotations close to home. Any feedback or suggestions? Can doing all your 4th year electives in one hospital potentially backfire?

Thanks

I think that

(A) if you are doing multiple rotations in the same field, you would likely suffer from over-exposure at some point

(B) if you are doing multiple rotations in non-related fields, those won't really improve your chances at the particular program you are applying to

would u say each elective should be done at a different hospital?
