I was wondering if anyone has done any electives in florida or are based out of florida. I was looking for a place to do an elective but have no clue about what hours would be and how preceptors are. Or just where a good place is to go.

Thanks 🙂

drmdo,
I did a core selective (IM) at Mt. Sinai in Miami. It was one of the best places I rotated. We would have to pre-round by 0700 (max 4 patients) so we could go to AM report in the cafeteria. I was with a 2nd yr IM resident an intern and 2 other JMS's.
So hours: M-F 0615 or 0630 to approx 1630
Call: twice the month I was there b/c there were 3 of us (JMS's) and one weekend day. Essentially a student covered every night the intern was on call which was q4.
Over all it was an excellent experence and everybody was nice and enjoyed teaching attending to intern. 👍

What about Columbia, Palms West , Wellington or Orlando. Any love for long lost KWC members there specifically for internship

😉 drmdo, sorry to highjack the thread for a moment but I must give props to one of the highest and most exhaulted memebers of what some know as the KWC.
Senior B, my brother, how are you. Its easier if you e-mail me through the school e-mail. We would probably speak more that way. CALL ME MOSS!
