Any advice on reading material? I have a trauma/critical care rotation coming up and I wanted a good prep books.

There's a book that I like a bunch by a doc named Marino, it's called "The ICU Book". He's opinionated but I found it to be a good read, and it has all the requisite formulae that you could possibly be pimped on.

You can also Google "University of Michigan Critical Care" - they have a link on their website to some super-high yield articles that you can try to look up and read...sort of the "sentinel" articles of CCM.

Lastly, Google "ITACCS"; they have some things that Google brings up that might be good...I think they have a huge document on Massive Transfusion (or something) that I found really good.

Good luck with the rotations!

Unlike most textbooks, Marino's "opinions" are very blatant and his writer's voice shines through, making his book a very enjoyable read. Get the 3rd/newest edition.
