when is too late to do a showcase? is late november?
is 1-2 enough for # of electives?

Depends on your goal. Are you trying to showcase your skills at the program or trying to get LORs?

December is the absolute latest I would try to do an away rotation. I would try and get all my letters done by the end of September. I think I missed out on an interview or two because my third letter wasnt ready until late October.

i'm doing it for showcase mostly. hoping to get a letter now from my surgery clerkship from one of the anesthesiologist i'm working with now.
thanks again, if anyone else has anything to add, would love to hear any other thoughts.

Showcase: anytime between July and December

LOR: anytime between July and September

1-2 electives is plenty. Anything more than 2 is overkill.
