5-hour Energy is POISON!

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
My friend actually became tired after drinking 5 hour energy. He's usually an super late night owl, but right after he popped the bottle, he started yawning and, consequently, slept earlier than usual that night.

I'm pretty sure these deaths were linked to massive brain hemorrhages brought on by watching the 5-hr energy commercials.

But seriously. If you can't even pronounce 1/10 of the stuff in 5 hour energy shots, should you even drink it?!

kinda scary, since i used to drink these daily, and sometimes 2x/day..i still drink coffee everyday. I try to keep it down to a minimum, so I don't get huge withdrawals.

Like saying tobacco and alcohol have adverse effects too.

I didn't mean to imply that I supported the validity of the article. I just thought some of the stuff in it was interesting. Like how much more caffeine 5-hr has than a red bull.

So smart people can drink 5-hr energy, but dumb people can't? 😕

He's saying that all these synthesized chemicals with long names are bad for your body

This is as stupid as the people who died from drinking a bunch of Monster energy drinks.
DON'T DRINK IT, IF YOU CAN'T EVEN DRINK COFFEE.

I know you said "threads and questions" only, but you're welcome.👍

I use these before exams. I like the concentrated burst of energy and mental alertness without the bloating.

I lost count of how many of these I took when I was studying for the MCAT.

Sorry if I'm taking a couple trolls seriously, but...

You're kidding, right? Many people can't pronounce dihydrogen monoxide let alone identify what it is. Some of the most essential nutrients in your body have complex chemical formulas/ names. Horrible example.

D'oh. Without synthesized chemicals with long names, you'd been dead long before medical school applications.

Actually, not at all. Tobacco products lead to one of the highest instances of mortality in the world, and alcohol is very clearly severely damaging neurochemically, especially in beyond marginal doses. Energy drinks are bad and all, but no...

Dihydrogen Monoxide:
  • can cause rapid death if inhaled.
  • has been found in excised tumors of terminal cancer patients.
  • can cause severe burns when in its solid or gasseous form.
  • contributes to global warming.
  • is refered to by industrial chemists as "the universal solvent".

Yet it remains in common use in agriculture, landscaping, city planning, and public schools regardless of these dangers. In fact, if you live in a major city, you have probably had contact with Dihydrogen Monoxide today!

Tell your government representative to back the bill to ban Dihydrogen Monoxide NOW!

Why don't you stop talking and go do some science?

Lol, I thought this was pretty funny.

Also, color me shocked that 5 hour energy has some bad effects... 😛

but SEVENTY THREE PERCENT of doctors asked said they would recommend a low calorie energy substitute for healthy patients who use energy supplements! It cant be poison! Doctors love it via implied reasoning!

And if you take a ton of asprin, you will also die.

So why should we ban this substance when people can't take it correctly? Should we ban asprin then too?

LOL. Every time I see that commercial I laugh at that line. The sad thing is that if people actually recited that sentence in their heads a few times, they'd realize how sleazy companies can be.

they wont though. It' maddening.... Just like the commercials that have some d-bag standing there with a labcoat and a stethoscope. That guy isnt a doctor.... but expertise is implied when they use that guy. :bang: I can't decide which pisses me off more, that these companies think I am dumb enough to fall for it, or that most people actually are :scared:

Clever!👍

Definitely the fact that Americans are dumb enough to look at that guy and be convinced by anything an actor says.

I'm sure if that same 'guy with a stethoscope' said that cigarettes can't cause cancer, 50% of Americans would believe him on the spot.

:slap:
:bang:
