Anyone know how are 5 unit courses are accounted for with AAMC/AACOM? I ask because I notice they count all As as 4 points but to my understand an A in a 5 unit course would boost your gpa up more than an A in a 4 unit course.

More units are weighed more in your gpa.
If you get an A in a 4 unit course and a B in another 4 unit course, you'll have a 3.5 gpa.

If you get an A in a 5 unit course and a B in a 4 unit course, you will have a 3.56.

But base on the AAMC gpa calculator spreadsheet, an A in a 4 unit course is worth 4.0 and an A in a 5 unit course is worth 4.0 as well. Maybe I am just confusing myself, but shouldn't there be some type of differences between the two?

More unit weighs more as in the average grade point
