Hi guys, I am registered for the July 16th exam, and I just got a 27 on my 5th practice exam!!!!! I am in a panic since I need at least a 30.

I usually end up getting 9-10 in BS
Verbal 10-11
PS anywhere from 7-9!!!!

Timing in PS is a huge problem for me. I tend to look at the time left toward the second-or-third to last passage, then panic and start guessing. I know I need some more content review in specific areas such as optics and electromagnetism, which I'm working on.

Is gaining 3 points in 5 weeks unheard of if I bust my butt (which I have been!) As much as I think I need extra content review, everyone seems to urge practice with the actual questions. I was planning on taking a sixth FL on Friday, but I'm wondering if I should scrap that and just do more review/topicals/q-bank, then take the next FL when I'm more prepared.

It's funny, this was my first AAMC, having taken only Kaplan FL's in the past, and I got the EXACT SAME SCORE as my last Kaplan. And during the test, I was thinking wow, this is a breeze compared to Kaplan! Guess the joke's on me. Any recommendations would be much appreciated.

Well you have to assess the parts your getting wrong, and why you are getting questions wrong => lack of knowledge in that area, picked the wrong answer, didn't read the question properly. I definitely think you can pull your mark up 3 points, but I'd be wary of doing another FL if you feel like you aren't ready content wise.

Spend some time working on your content if you feel like that's where you are struggling, especially in the physical sciences as that seems to be your bane. Good luck!

Going 3 pts is nothing especially if you have content to still go over for better comprehension. I went up ~3 pts in the last couple weeks of studying just from practicing the FLs and going over anything I didn't know 100%. Just keep chugging and you'll get there.

Agreed. But as i'm sure you have already noticed, the curve for the AAMC tests is much stricter than Kaplan's scale
