Just curious; how many of you all have been in undergrad, including postbac, retaking and working on classes to apply/reapply? I'm just already feeling OLD BALLS just thinking if I have more than 5yrs... Haha

I'm currently retaking. i was missing organics when i graduated ,so basically went back to retake some classes and take organics. it does take a long time...retake as many C's as possible 🙂

Yeah i think i have like 4 classes to retake. But next semester i will be finished with all the pre-reqs.

random: is "dr. acula" in your sig the band or just random? haha

Pretty sure it's a scrubs reference.

Yeah man. Graduated a couple years ago and have just been working on improving my app, mcat, ec's, and bunch of other stuff. Def feeling old as well but I am damn happy I got to enjoy some more of my 20's because once they are over....they are over.

I try very hard not to feel old balls.

I sure as hell enjoyed my 20s! Turning 30 next month....... Oh well! Time will pass whether we do something about it or not so might as well go to med school! 😀

I've consistently read on SDN the Lamentations of the young 20-something's worried about "giving up their 20's" to pursue medicine. Well, I'm going to be giving up my 30's to do it. So there's that 🙂

2004-2010 was my first bachelor's lol. 2010-2012 was my second/PB.

I'm kicking myself every day for not investing more into my post-bacc.

HA!

I don't mind giving up my 30s. My freedom in my 20s was priceless. 😀

I'm either going to be 35 and a doctor or just 35....same age either way!

My 20s were fantastic (and my early college gpa shows it ).

Yes! Same here 🙂 It feels so good knowing I got it out of my system. I think we are going to have this, among many other things, to our advantage.
lol yep all of this, unfortunately

Yes, there was moving and working and a foreign mission trip all in there too so I did a lot more than just go to school for 10 years. Lol
Besides, I wouldn't have chosen this exact profession in healthcare if I would have graduated earlier, so I'm glad it worked out how it did.

3.5 years in undergrad
1 year in post-bac
1 year doing mcat/volunteer/random classes
1 year in grad program
1 year in research

i've pretty much done everything one can do before medical school. you can do it!
