Hello all! I am a white, male senior at Washington State University and just received my MCAT scores today and am looking to apply to schools relatively quickly. This was my first time taking the MCAT and depending on how this cycle goes I will retake it again. I would like some input as to where I am a competitive applicant and where I should apply. This cycle I would like to apply mostly to MD schools and wait until next year to try DO, if you think that is a good idea. I know I am lacking in my ECs, especially with clinical volunteering, so any help is appreciated!

GPA: 3.81
MCAT: 505 (126/125/128/126)
Degree: Major in Genetics & Cell Biology; Minor in Microbiology
Institution: Washington State University
Official State of Residency: Washington
Personal Statement: Strong (personal history of trauma)
Shadowing: 80-100 hours of Primary Care, ~10 hours of General Surgery
Research: 2 years working in Biology lab, I am in the middle of a project that will hopefully get published this year. Also, did 1 semester of Bioinformatics research through an HHMI-SEA funded project
Paid Work Experience: Landscaping, Networking contractor. This coming year I have a paid mentoring position through Multicultural Student Services at WSU, and a paid TA position for the Intro Microbiology Lab class.
Volunteer Experience: 200+ hours as a Cabin Counselor at a kids cancer camp. 150+ hours of mentoring underclassmen. 100+ hours of STEM related tutoring for LSAMP (Louis Stokes Alliance for Minority Participation) students. 100+ hours of tutoring students in the Anatomy Lab, I was a Student Assistant and would help the students learn structures. No clinical volunteer experience yet.
Leadership Experience: Mentor for molecular biology students, Anatomy Student Assistant

Current List:

University of Washington
Oregon Health and Sciences
NY Medical College
University of Miami
Rosalind Franklin
George Washington
Creighton
Virginia Commonwealth
Drexel
Washington State University (first class starts in Fall 2017)

This list is definitely not complete but I am looking for schools that I would be most likely to receive an interview from.

We dont know much about Wash St but it's likely where your odds will be best at by far. New school with one of their own UG's at 3.8/29 likely will be competitive.
You can take a look at this GPA/MCAT chart to see how people with your stats do at the U of Wash historically.
Fortunately for you a quick glance shows that your MCAT likely will not prevent you from being a serious candidate if the other parts of your app are received favorably.

WA is one of the worst states in the US historically for MD admission. Go through MSAR and find about a dozen OOS friendly schools with a 10th percentile MCAT at or lower than yours. I would give priority to schools that get <11k apps.

You could add these schools where you have a chance for an interview with your stats:
Oakland Beaumont
Western Michigan
Quinnipiac
Medical College Wisconsin

I suggest:

Temple

Jefferson

Drexel

Quinnipiac

WVU

Rosy Franklin

MCW

SLU

Creighton

Loma Linda (but read their list of don'ts)

Albany

NYMC

VCU

U VM

EVMS

Oakland-B

Uniformed Services University/Hebert (just be aware of the military service commitment)

Rush (note: very service/experience oriented with a 150hr service requirement. Avg student has 800 hours of community service, and >1800 hours of health care exposure.)

Netter

U WA (add WSU for next cycle, if needed)

Any DO school, starting with PacNW, both Westerns and Touro-CA
