Go 5th batchers! I received emails from BU and MWU-IL the next day after e-submitting before my application was even mailed. Today, I received emails from Rutgers, NYU, Case, and Nova. I know I won't be hearing about potential interviews for another few weeks because I'm taking my DAT mid-August. Good luck to everyone!!

I'm pretty much in the same boat as you. My initial application was mailed 6/28, then I got my committee letter in and sent 7/12, then my official DAT scores were sent 7/26. I'm not really sure what this entails either, but I have gotten emails from schools saying they received my app weeks ago, and some that said it was on hold until the official DAT scores were posted (today).

I think that whatever your first mailing date, is the batch you are in. Everything is electronically accessible now for schools. As your materials are getting updated and sent in, it is just being added to your application that already exists. I don't think the batch number changes, but ultimately schools will not review your application until it is completed as I'm sure you guys already know. This is just my personal opinion though based on other posts and information I have read.

2.97 oGPA, 2.75 sGPA
22 AA/21 TS/21 PAT/no section below 20
FL resident
Great ECs (200+ shadowing hours across 4 specialties, 200+ hours volunteer dental assisting at dental school, DAT instructor at kaplan, TA for microbio lab, work as research assistant in periodontology study, plenty of community service through fraternity)
Good LORs (2 science profs, 1 dentist, 1 research PI)

I personally believe that they looked at your GPA and didn't even consider the rest, which is unfair. With the really high DAT and awesome extracurricular activities I'm sure you will get in where ever you want to go.

there's a small chance i'm wrong. but when i applied (i'm a chicago resident), i received an e-mail from them saying basically "if you are not an illinois resident, don't bother with the supplemental application because we aren't taking OOS applicants"

i just looked for the e-mail but i must have deleted it.

ahh, scratch that. i got my schools mixed up. it was UIC that wasn't accepting out of state.

Lol no which was a good thing. They just rejected me right away no supplementary offer or anything. I'm still waiting on university of Florida, I already received instructions to submit supplementary for nova.

If so, what were some things that ya'll talked about in the question they ask, "why do you want to go to GRU?"

I know most secondaries ask this question, and I've filled out other schools supp apps. But for some reason i'm not too sure what to write for GRU!

I am just curious, what exactly did ur rejection say? I am trying to evaluate my situation since I got a couple of emails from the school which throw everything off balance.
First they send me this:
"This letter is to advise you of the status of your application to LECOM School of Dental Medicine.

The Admissions Committee has reviewed your file and a decision has not yet been made regarding an interview. The Admissions Committee will meet to review your application every 90 days; you will be notified if there is a change in their decision at that time.

Please log on to the LECOM portal to view completed or additional requirements.

You may contact the Admissions Office at (941) 756-0690, or by e-mail at [email protected], if you should have any other questions regarding the application process. If your file is not complete you may submit additional documentation in support of your file. "

After 20 minutes, they sent me this:
"The Office of Admissions at LECOM Bradenton has processed your supplemental application. You can monitor the status of your application by logging on to the LECOM Candidate Portal.

You can access the portal by going to LECOM Candidate Portal. Log in with the user name and password shown below.

Password: (Please note, the password is case sensitive; you must use capital letters as shown).

Prerequisite course deficiencies will be indicated on the Admissions Tab under "Required Courses and Letters". Click "View Folder Items" on the right side of the screen. PLEASE BE PATIENT - THESE DOCUMENTS MUST BE CHECKED IN MANUALLY AND THIS MAY TAKE A FEW WEEKS.

Prerequisite course deficiencies will be indicated on the portal for the following reasons:

1. Prerequisite course not taken.

2. Planned courses will be listed as deficiencies until we receive a transcript indicating that course grade.
