I wish i found out about SDN earlier.
But, DAT is finally done, and even though lack of preparation time, through God's grace, the scores are okay.

PAT 21
QR 21
RC 21
BIO 20
GC 19
OC 29
TS21
AA 22

From what I read from SDN, a lot of people recommended DAT destoyer.
I didn't have the time to get it, because I found out about SDN about a week before i took the test.

I studied with Kaplan book (from the book store) and DAT Achiever only.
I went through the two resources twice, and if there was a concept i didn't understand, I just googled. I started looking at Kaplan book 4weeks before the test, and a week before for DAT achiever.

Kaplan was good for getting general studying done, and Achiever was just great because its hardness made me not panic so much during the acutal test.

I am graduating early from Univ.Virginia within 3 years with double major in Biology BA and Cognitive Science BA. GPAs are 3.48 for academic and 3.51 for science. I am also an international student (due to recent status change). What do you guys think my chances are? Know of any schools that accepts more international students than other schools??

Nice work...especially on the orgo! Doesn't appear that you're going to have any problems getting admission to a few places.

Do you mind if I ask what type of scores you were getting on achiever for each of the 3 tests?

I'm getting ready to take the 2nd one, and was curious as to how they might compare. Thanks!

how did you prepare for Bio?

wow. great scores!

you're graduating early.. within 3 yrs?? so... are you saying you're a rising freshman/sophomore at U. Virginia?

i am rising 3rd year. So i'm applying this summer.
I read Bio section from Kaplan twice and made my own outline, and made sure i knew almost everything on achiever problems. Like I said, I used wikipedia and google for quick searches only on the concepts that i wanted to review more. I think it saved time doing so. 🙂

using achiever, my AA was 18,18,and 19.
TS 16,16,17.
I did 22s and 21s on RC and QR.
and 21s on PAT.
Achiever PAT is a lot harder, but RC is a lot easier than the real DAT.
Obviously i didn't do so well taking Achiever tests, but it was really worth it. 🙂

I was really blessed because my RC was on topics that i already studied from upper bio classes.
English is my second language, and I am such a slow reader. For the 3 articles, i strictly limited my self to 10min of reading and 10min of answering. I didn't take any notes, but read the passage top to bottom, which made me to answer RC questions until the last second.
I think it's really important that you develop the way that fits best for you.
Some people like "reading the question and searching for the answer" method.

29 on the orgo !!!!!! it is crazy..... good job.

with these scores plus two majors, which one of them in bio, ur seat is safe in few schools.

too bed you didn't get the destroyer, you could do a lot better in gen chem... but you should be fine.

wow, 16, 16, and 17 on the science sections as averages? and then you ended up with a 21, 19, 29 on the real thing?!?! i really hope my achiever scores translate to the same grades you got. congrats.

Wow! Those are awesome scores!! Congrats. Question: why is your TS not a 23? Just wondering how it dropped to a 21 with a 20 19 and 29!!!! Anyways.. could you elaborate a little on the math section and what you thought of it as compared to Achiever? Thanks and good luck in D-school!

What's even more confusing, is that there is only one score above 21 yet the AA is a 22. Really weird the way the DAT is scored. Great job. 👍

I think for the TS, they add up the raw scores. Since I don't know my raw scores, I just have to believe it is 21.
The real math section had more word problems, so it was just time consuming trying to read them. But they are not at all hard ones...just wordy.
I really didn't do anything else for math than just doing achiever. Just make sure you understand the solutions very well. And no crazy probabilities on the real DAT...

Good job...great scores...You say it took you 4 weeks to study, how long a day did you study at that rate???

AA is the average of all academic subjects (bio, organic, chem, RC, and QR)... TS is a scaled score of all your sciences; therefore, is not the average of your science scores.

jB!🙂

i really hope my practice test scores translate into some phenomenal scores like yours did as well. you were saying that you didn't get a chance to get the Destroyer since you only got on the website a week b4 the DAT but that's what i've mainly been using to study. its really great material in conjunction with others in case anyone is going to just rely on your methods alone. but you didn't seem to suffer from not having the Destroyer lol! Good for you and congrats on the scores! 👍

Good job...great scores...You say it took you 4 weeks to study, how long a day did you study at that rate???

for the first three weeks I studied like 3hrs per day...going over kaplan book twice and making outlines,
then for the last week, i studied like more than 12 hours per day. going over achiever twice...but making sure to get plenty of sleep... that was sad. But, a week of stress really paid off.

Good luck!!!

not bad!! you did great..
a bio major will definetely help you..
you are on a right track.. good luck
