Hey guys,
I figured I'd post my advice and scores up since most of these threads were super helpful while I was studying for the DAT myself.
I am a biomedical engineer and took my bios and chems at a community college while taking ochem at Texas A&M university. I took the DAT at the end of my college career so all of these classes were 100% out of my head when I started studying, which was mid May. With that being said, I believe anyone could accomplish that I have if they just grind it out for about a month or so before their exam.
Materials used:
Cliffs AP bio 3rd edition
Ferali's notes
Chad's videos
DAT Destroyer + Math Destroyer
DAT Bootcamp
How I studied:
For the first two weeks, I just straight reviewed. No problems, not much thinking involved. Each day, I went over at least a chapter (or section, whatever you want to call it) in Chad's videos in ochem and gchem and read at least a chapter in both Cliff's and ferali's notes (essentially reading two chapters of the same topic).
The following week or week and a half I did DAT Destroyer. I did at least 50 problems per section every day while doing a Math Test in Math Destroyer also. These problems really kicked my butt but it's better to learn harder problems at first right? I usually got at least half wrong in every section and almost every single problem wrong in bio in DAT destroyer. But make sure you learn the ins and outs of each question, learn what you did wrong and what you did right. I believe DAT destroyer was the main reason why I did well on the actual DAT so don't just glance over what you did right/wrong. LEARN ALL OF IT!
The two weeks before the exam, I started DAT Bootcamp. Make sure you have atleast 7 days before your DAT to do Bootcamp. This program is nearly identical (words, format, difficulty) to the actual DAT, in my opinion. My bootcamp averages per section were about a 20. Bootcamp really helps you with timing and at the end of my science section, I had around 10mins left. I believe Bootcamp helped me with that.
To sum up:
Bio: Cliffs + Feralis -> DAT Destroyer -> DAT Bootcamp
GC/OC: Chad's Videos -> DAT Destroyer -> DAT Bootcamp
RC: Barely studied. I did 1 or 2 tests on Bootcamp and was scoring fine so I didn't want to waste my time doing that. I did not do the search and destroy technique. I read the first question and went straight to reading the passage. When I ran into the answer, I went to question 2. If I have already read the answer to question 2, I would answer it and continue. If I did recognize question 2, I would continue reading the passage until I hit the answer. I kept doing this through all 3 passages. I had around 5-6 mins left at the end.

Memorize every formula that you can. Anything could pop up in this exam. It sucks when you recognize such an easy problem but forget a simple formula like compound interest (what happened to me).
PAT: DAT Bootcamp
Bootcamp has an amazing vault full of problems of each section. It takes practice and more practice to do well on this section. KH and PF was simpler on the actual exam than Bootcamp. Everything else was similar in difficulty.
Final note:
I believe I could've done a little better on my exam had I studied harder. I was still in graduation mode when I started studying so it was difficult for me to stay still and study. However, I still worked hard and focused when I could. Plan your schedule ahead of time and know exactly what you're doing and doing next when studying comes. Try not to waste time thinking what you should do next. Thanks for reading and good luck on the exam and applications!
Feel free to ask me anything!
