a lot of schools i got accepted at said i needed to have 6 credit hours in English completed. i have 3 credit hours in English, but have 3 credit hours from AP courses (given credit as 3 hrs on my college transcript, but listed as "transfer credit" with no gpa points given). is that still valid, or do i need to take another english class in college? tks all!

it really depends on each school. Some schools will accept AP credits and some will not (in which case you would have to take an additional 3 credit hrs of English). A good idea would be to call/ look on the website of schools in which you are interested in applying to find out their policy on this.

Most schools will accept it if it says on your college transcripts "English 101, AP credit, 3 hrs" or something. Some schools (I believe Tufts) do something where if your degree requires 2 semesters of math, and you AP'ed 1 or 2 semesters, you would have to do 2 semesters of higher level math. If you're talking about 1 class, maybe you can squeeze in another English class in somewhere.

i am kinda against AP credits because the policy towards AP credit is not that well defined... i just did gen. bio I and II, chem I and II, orgo I and II, physics I and II, calc I and stat, and english I and II all at the college level.. this way, there is no confusion about admission requirements...

i would just take english II next semester. And you don't need to get an A in it either, so just take it and get it over with.

If you've already been accepted then just go and register for an easy english class at your local CC. Knock it out and be done with it...better safe than sorry.
