Hi there,

I was an AmeriCorps member up until last May, when my program was suspended with the DOGE cuts. B/c of this, I was no longer able to live in the housing provided by my host organization (not AmeriCorps program housing, but the organization I worked for had a house where they kept certain AmeriCorps members). So I moved in with a friend, then we moved to another place, and we didn't officially decide that I was moving in with her permanently until around October. I was applying to med school throughout, and now I'm rejoining my AmeriCorps program, most likely starting in December. I did not start any activities, as I was not sure if I was going to be able to keep living there, and most activities required a commitment that I felt I could not provide without knowing this.

I guess I'm wondering, is the gap in activities from May to December a major red flag for interviews and/or if I need to reapply? I feel like it raises the question of why I didn't just stay with my parents, and they are pretty well off, but it's a complicated situation. I don't really want to explain that to interviewers or in my app, not sure if it's something that would come up. So I'm just wondering how this situation with come across for apps, or if there is a certain way I should explain it. Thank you
