What happens if you do not pass all of the STEP exams? Are there any programs in particular that will still let you continue on? I am not too familiar with their boards and wasn't sure if it was for licensure purposes and not necessarily for graduation. I couldn't find much information on this specific question. Thanks.

you cannot get an MD without passing Step 1. I think you can still graduate without Step CS/CK (someone correct me if I am wrong) but you certainly cannot progress to internship...and without Step2s and Step 3 passed you are not a practicing MD and cannot advertise yourself as one.

Dr. Dre actually did a 6 year OMFS program but never passed Step 2CS, and he is currently under review by AAOMS for advertising himself as a doctor.

You get kicked out of the program if you can't pass the Steps. Although, they give you a 3 shots at it.

They will not let you continue; you will be dismissed. As mentioned above, most programs allow 2-3 shots per USMLE. Most people only have trouble with Step 1 and very few have trouble with Step 2. Also as mentioned above, you cannot practice /advertise as an M.D. without passing an internship year (gen surg) and all of the Steps (1, 2 &3).
