For MD/PhD? None. MD/PhD programs get you done in as much time as takes you to get done and that amount of time is variable depending on grad school experience. Some people take 6 years, but it is much more common to take 7 or 8 years, and a small percentage can take more than that. Please let me know if you are referring to something else.
in the 70's UCLA used to push most folks through in 6 years (or try, at least)... a grad of the era told me it was not productive, and now the system works better when you get your lab tofund you for 2-3 years of graduate work....
