There are a lot of ignorant people in the world (not stupid, but lack understanding) of what goes into the profession. Also, it is unfortunate, but class warfare is becoming prevalent again it seems, which doesn't help anyone. Get those evil rich people!!😱

On the bright side, I've seen surveys that indicate dentists are among the most trusted professionals.

What is your point? There are mixed opinions about dentistry on that website.

Just from personal experience, it seems many people have quite a negative attitude towards dentists...🙁

If you want to know, then shadow. I've shadowed about 80 hours and you learn a lot just from watching patients come in and out.
