hello all,

just finished my DAT today. i must say, it was nothing like what i expected. i did not get frapped or anything, but my results were complete opposite of what i expected.

PAT: 23
QR: 19
RC: 19
Bio: 24
GC: 30
OC: 19
TS: 23
AA: 22

when i took practice tests, my QR and RC were pretty high, but my science average was quite low. as u can see, my results show the opposite.

i took top score, kaplan, and achiever practice tests and this week, emerged myself in the destroyer.

PAT - wtf. those angles look all the same! either way, key-hole and t/e/b questions were easier on the real one than it was for topscore and achiever (those were good practices). hole punching was just like it was on achiever. and kaplan proved useless for this section... it was just way to easy on PAT.

QR - i had about 6 or 7 combination/permutation problems. that subject area was my weakest subject and i got bombarded. i was able to figure out only about 3 of them. so in the end, i ran out of time. did not have anytime to check my answers. comparable to all the practice tests, just think more harder problems, less easier problems. real problems themselves are comparable to the practice problems.

Bio - question can come out of pretty much any section in bio. just like what everyone else wrote.

GC - i expected this to be my weakest section of all, but i guess not. mostly conceptual. i actually had to do calculations on about 10 questions out of the 3. one thing i got down pretty well was the concept behind bunch of laws, etc... just not so good at applying the concepts. either way, it worked in my favor. so my advice - know your concepts by heart!

OC - pretty straight forward. something i wasnt prepared for was the nmr and ir peaks. so know them. i had 4 questions on those. i only remembered the groups for 1700 and 3300 and that was enough.

I don't know if a lot of people did this, but I took my practices about 3 times more i.e. take the test i took before about 3 days later and take them again. by my 3rd time, i would know the material in the exam by heart.

i also had a notebook where i wrote down all the questions i missed on practice tests, destroyer, and kaplan quizzes - and memorized them!

if DAT destroyer was a woman, i would make sweet sweet love to her. like i said, go over missed problems (as well as the ones you guessed on and got right) again and again until you know it f'sho.

thanks to all those who gave me advices. i love you all (really)

and good luck to all those studying.
i know it sucks to stay home/library all day studying when its so nice outside, but in the end, it will all be worth it! if you have questions, please do ask - it would be my pleasure to help you out.

Gen Chem is my worse and weakest subject. Tips on how u went about studying for it please! 30?! WTH...ur my role model 😀
PM me.

awesome scores!!! On NMR, were they C-13 or H-NMR, or both? What do you mean by combination / permutation questions on QR? 19-on QR, that's amazing in my book.

Dude, congratulation!!

what do u feel is important in studying gchem and ochem??? concepts for gchem and reactions for ochem?? thanks nice scores btw

excellent scores! what do you think i need to work on if i am only studying with destroyer and the kaplan material? my test is in a week. should i get more material? ( was achiever and topscore that much help?)

WOW! amazing scores! Congratulations!
Do you mind posting you achiever and topscore scores

what do you think prepared you best for bio? Destoryer? Achiever? If you had to say which study guide was most similiar to the actual thing, which one would it be?
