Just noticed that second mailing date has been posted, which is on 7/4/11.

So annoyed that I couldn't get the 1st batch even though I e-submitted on 6/7, and the last transcription was recieved on 6/13.

Second batch is still early!!! And dont feel bad...i e-submitted on the 3rd LOL btw when should we anticipate to hear anything from schools and im not talking about like interviews...more like a receipt that they got the application or a link to the secondary or the fee or something along those lines!

False. They still have stuff to do after it's verified. Like putting it in envelopes and stamping it and stuff (I'm assuming). It took about a week for me to get a mailing date after mine was verified.

Isn't the mailing electronic this year? I thought apps were paperless now?

When they say 'mail date', that's when they put up a new mailing file for the schools to download into their client (AADSAS Admissions Officers Web Portal). It's just a zip file with an MS Access file with new records. It dumps in new applications and updates the applications they already have (like adding the LOEs to an existing application). I can't with complete certainty say if they still actually print off a ton of applications and stamp them for mailing, but if they did, a 7/5 mail date would make more sense than 7/4 date when no one will be working, including the post office.

i meant that for dentalworks who said that anything after first batch is late. I dont know how that would make any sense.

Although it certainly does not hurt to be in the first batch 🙂

i think its fine. as long as you submit by end of july, and you have good stats and all, it will be okay. don't trip if you don't get into the first batch. I wish I did, but i don't think it'll be a big deal. you'll still get into d-school and you'll still be a dentist in the end

I just think it's a little weird that the status changed at midnight,... and today's a holiday. 'Didn't know people at AADSAS work at such odd hours.

The computers work 24/7. It's 2011. They don't print off applications and lick stamps. Computers. Computers. Computers. 'Mail date' is when a new file is released for schools to download into their clients to see new and updated applicants.

All schools are different. Someone at the school needs to get all the apps first. I got one link to a secondary the morning mine submitted (last week) and got others later in the week. Some haven't said anything yet. It's super early to worry about it.

The reason for asking is that the people who made the first batch reported saying that received confirmation emails the day that they sent their application (AADSAS sent it lol) im just a bit worried that my school's email is blocking them somehow lol

where is everyone seeing this second "mailing day post" for 7/4?? is it on your individual app? my transcripts were in by 6/13 i submitted 6/24 and in my app alls it says is date designated: 6/24. My GPA hasn't been verified yet.

gpa verification comes before mailing date appears.

About how long since I e-submitted should it take for gpa to get verified? (As I said, transcripts were in way before I submitted). I called AADSAS for another question and they said it shouldn't take more than 4 weeks but everyone seems to be getting verified pretty quickly. Thanks again.

Yeah, it's really a crapshoot as to when they actually get you verified but like you said it never takes up 4 weeks. For me, I submitted on the 15th and was verified on the 27th. You should be verified any day now.

lecom as well. Most of my checks I mailed 2 weeks ago still haven't been cashed yet. For those schools they say do not send check until they notify us, do you think it would be wise to send a check later this week even if they still have not notified us?

I think it's not a good idea to send checks for schools which want applicants to submit their checks until they notify.

yeah i noticed the same thing, i called their office and they said that they have yet to process the applications from aadsas. looks like we're in the clear, it's up to western to get to them now!

I noticed MW-IL has everything but MW-AZ is still waiting on a letter? Odd but oh well. My dat scores are still being verified I guess so hopefully those go out Monday
