What/How I studied:
I studied about 4 hours a day from June until like the week before, when I boosted it up to like 8 hours a day. I used topscore and achiever, as well as the kaplan blue book. I also used all the kaplan class materials which I had originally baught of someone and then added to that the flashcards which someone was offering as a zip download. I mainly focused on the sciences, not too much on pat, didn't study rc or qr at all. I know a lot of people use something to supplement Kaplan's bio, so I had gotten sparknotes bio flashcards. Not that helpful.
Bio- similar to achiever, some tricky questions, some easy ones. No crazy taxonomy. I think being a bio major helped me here
chem- a lot how would you find the answer type questions, a few concept ones.
orgo- just know your reactions and you'll do fine. ortho/para/meta directors etc.
pat- I suck at this section. i also didn't study it much, so I can't really judge. Angles were most similar to achiever.
rc- harder than I thought. I was used to questions being worded so that I could just find the exact same phrase in the reading, but some questions had the text paraphrased. I guess I did ok.
qr- thought I would do better. did all the easy ones first followed by other ones. LIke 5 word problems i think. A few trig and a few (1-2) probability. I was really tired by this section, and based on pat and rc thought I had just failed the test and would need to retake it, so maybe that influenced the not so hot performance. Oh i had one unit conversion..but I forget what it was exactly.
I couldn't sleep the night before, I kept waking up. Knowing that if I did bad on this I'd have to retake in nov. which might mean I have to wait until next year to apply again made me really nervous. The exam is doable, but not easy. Put in the time and effort and you should do fine.
Oh yeah I hypmotized myself into thinking I'd get a 24..so I'm happy with a 20. I think it helped boost my confidence a tad
Pm me with more questions. Good luck. Practice makes perfect.
