Hey all! this is my first post, I decided to give a little back, as little as it may be, since I took so much information from this wonderful site, and thank everyone for inputs, predents and dents alike!! SO, here goes...the huuuge weight of the DATs are finally off the shoulders...scores are NOT stellar...but passable? Heres the breakdown

PAT: 20
QR: 22
RC: 21
Bio: 22
G Chem:18 (boo)
OChem 18 (booo)
TS 19
AA 20

As for study materials...i sweeeaarrr i dont' work for any of the companies, but this is just to reassure some anxious students looking for some..mm..reassurement
For Bio, used Kaplan as basic review, and Schaum's as a quick look-to reference since they have an index and kaplan doesn't.
QR: practice problems from DAT destroyer and topscore
OChem: Kaplan, Schaum's Ochem (which explains things pretty thoroughyl..i dont' find them very well organized though), and destroyer (they include some flow charts that i thought were nice...i also made a huge table of different reactions and products if anyone would like it)
GChem: Kaplan, and destroyer
PAT: just practice practice practice!!! I'd say the hole-punching was a lot harder than any practice problems given in Kaplan (way easy) or topscore (a little better), but from what I read you probably would get good practice from achiever, which many say have crazy hole punch problems.

All in all, I thought the questions for bio, ochem, and chem were quite similar to the ones given in topscore. Destroyer was a bit difficult for the chem, but good for bio practice. I think some questions were very similar, if not exactly the same. For destroyer and topscore though, make sure you already studied the materials thoroughly, so that you're not just doing questions and looking at the answers. You can use the answers as a study guide, but make sure you re-answer the questions on your own and undrstand how they arrived to them.

Test all in all was NOT that complicated...didn't seem that tricky... I probably just didn't know my reactions and gchem material well enough. I wish I could see what problems I got wrong though!

For scratch paper..i got two sheets of erasable white (well...blue) boards, and I was able to use both sides. I was also able to ask for more during the break. I didn't feel like it hindered me in any way.

Now I just gotta finish up my app....my GPA's not that high, but I can't wait another 3 months to retake the test, so i'm applying with these scores and a 3.4, 3.0 GPA with lots of volunteering..international work...etc...what're your takes on these numbers? Shotgun method and just apply to EVERY school and waste away the family fortune?? 😛
