I know my scores are not soo amazing like a lot of other SDNers out there, but I am so happy with my scores!!!
First: I want to begin by thanking my family so much. God I love them. They are soo supportive and I cannot express enough how much I love them!!
But I also want to thank all the SDN peeps out there who replied to all of my frantic messages! thank you so much! you guys helped boost my confidence tons!
Second: I want to say NEVER ever ever ever give up!! I suck, like absolutely suck, at taking standardized tests or whatever these are called, but I stuck with it. I stuck with the studying like crazy and god it totally pays off! And especially computerized. I mean come on...My eyes like bug out and I feel like ripping them out when I stare at a computer screen for sooo long..gosh. It sucks.
BUT>....
If I can do it...all of you all can! like seriously...just keep going and it will be over soon!
you will be so happy once those wonderful scores pop up on the screen. So really..like they say...keep calm and carry on!
But yeah so I shall write a breakdown as well!! and if anyone needs help or have any questions please please feel free to PM me. I know what it's like and I want to help.
So here we go...I'll probably add more later as requested and such and if I forget to include something!
PAT (21) CDP you wont regret it. I thought the real thing resembled CDP very well
CDP SCORES
Test 1: 17
Test 2: 21
Test 3: 19
Test 4: 18
Test 5: 21
Test 6: 20
Test 7: 22
Test 8: 18
I didn't end up having time to do the last two.
QR (18) Math Destroyer Lowest score..boo. I suck at math so I was expecting this. But I used Math destroyer for this and nothing else to study. I did up to test 10, but I found myself forgetting a lot of it. If you conquer math destroyer you will conquer this section. I started out practicing for math a lot. But then I decided to focus my studies in places I can do much better on than something I suck at and will suck at for life. So not much I can say here. But use the mark button. If you don't know how to do a question the first time you read it. Mark and move on, because some questions are simply plug and chug and you don't want to miss those!
RC (22) Kaplan practice tests I was pretty shocked with this score. When I took practice exams I did not do so hot in this section, except for maybe twice I got a 21. Method I used was kaplans road map. really really helpful for me. I tend to read and zone out, but writing key words done helped me a lot, and I found the map super useful because questions asked I already had on my map!! so I was able to finish with like 15 min left to review any marked questions. Mark those questions that ask: which is true and which is false and those tone questions then come back to them. Helped me save time.
Also if you do use the road-map technique, time yourself. Give yourself 10 min to map it out, and if you find yourself going over 10 min stop mapping and start answering!! then come back to those questions you have no idea on.
Mapping did not help me until I practiced with it. So make sure you practice too.
BIO: (21) DAT Destroyer, Cliffs, Qvault, Alan's free notes, Bangity's free notes
It is true what everyone says...IT IS COMPLETELY RANDOM! I was like wthhhh...more than half of what I studied was NOT ON IT! I had nooo plant questions. Sad. But it's different with everyone So It's hard to say. The Destroyer is amazinggg! It seriously saved my butt on a few questions. It's definitely worth the time to go over, especially the explanations in the back about the questions. read them! even if you get a destroyer question right. Also Cliffs helped me a lot. And Alan's notes. DAT Qvault was ok. Not as helpful as destroyer, but still good practice.
To tell you the truth, I never even finished reading Cliffs. I used destroyer as a study tool more than seeing what I know and I used Bangity's free notes on Cliffs and Kaplan's. I THANK BANGITY SO MUCH!!! like seriously saved me from not wanting to reading Cliffs. I used Cliffs to go in depth what I felt like I didn't know using Bangity's.
I went through Bio a lot when it came closer to the exam so it would stay fresh in my mind.
GC (20) Chad's videos, destroyer.
Chad is amazing!! He will seriously teach you everything you need to know to get in the 20s for GC and OC. Since I took the Kaplan course (sigh waste of money, but the practice material was GREAT), I thought I wouldn't need anything else for the sciences, but I was WRONG! Watching Chad's videos and taking notes on literally everything he says saved my butt. I wrote down notes of my notes as well. Using 8 pages I filled in pretty much a lot of the important stuff. I might scan and post them on here later. On the actual DAT I ran into a few math questions I couldn't figure out how to set up. Overall I had more math questions than concept...hence the 20...(I suck at math..no matter what kind..no joke). Know your concepts though. Meaning..KNOW CHAD's videos!
I only did destroyer once, and didn't have time to do it again, but I would have again if I had the chance. Great practice. Overkill, but absolutely great.
OC (22) Chad's videos, destroyer.
Same as GC! Chad's and destroyer will help you get 20s no doubt
Soo overall how I studied:
Started in the beginning of May with the Kaplan course...going to the class itself was not so helpful. The teacher really makes a difference. My teacher was really helpful with answering questions about applying to dental school... Maybe not so much the dat. But the Kaplan practice tests and resources online were excellent. And an excellent way to kill my confidence over and over and over. I got an 18AA the final practice test I took, and a 17 on the 3rd one...so yeah I was ready to fail the DAT, but SDNers helped save what little confidence I had left, so THANK YOU!
Kaplan is wayyy harder than the actual DAT so don't give up if you're doing badly on kaplan!
After taking a few Kaplan courses, I bought the destroyer, Chad's, CDP and Qvault(BIO) later on. Destroyer is well worth the money as well as Chad's. Qvault ehhhh. I didn't do so well on Qvault either...but it was good practice and a good study source.
OH..I also bought topscore when I got closer to my exam for practice. GET IT! for practice!! it helps.
I studied from 9am-whenever I felt like stopping (8pm or earlier) in my tiny room with my tiny desk with books all around me. I would take a break to eat lunch and watch Royal Pains . Then study again. Let me tell you that eating lunch ended up being my favorite part of the day. But seriously..if you want to do well you have to lock yourself in a room and STUDY! BUT.....please give your brain a break too! To relax I would go out with my puppy or play some games with the family. I definitely took break days too. Where I didn't do any studying at all. Only two days, but they help so much!
So overall...YOU CAN DO IT!!! I have confidence in you!!!
Seriously I thought I was failing this thing. Especially after the random Bio section. But someone here said to treat each section as its own and not to think about the previous section once you move on so that is what you should do!!
GOOD LUCK to whoever hasn't taken it yet and I know you all can do so well!
I hope these scores are enough to get me in somewhere... i applied to 11 schools and my gpa is a 3.3 so yeah...im very scared..but hopefully it all works out
Here are my chem and Ochem Notes
Unfortunately, My scanner stopped working so I tried taking pictures of the notes. Hopefully you guys can see them and hopefully they help
GEN CHEM I attached below since it wouldn't let me load too many pictures.
Good luck guys!

I didn't end up having time to do the last two.
- Keyholes: personally I thought keyholes were easier on the real thing than CDP, but you have to be careful, because there could be two answers that look extremely similar but differ in just one tiny corner. beware!
- TFE: Easier than CDP, definitely use the dotted lines to your advantage.
- Angles: Once again, easier than CDP, but there were a few strange ones I marked and came to later. Like really similar ones.
- Hole punches: SO MUCH EASIER than CDP, I was so relieved. I sucked at this using CDP and I was so happy when it ended up being easier. USE symmetry to your advantage! I learned this method taking the Kaplan course. In case someone doesn't know what I am talking about: it's seeing if you have symmetry with the hole punches after the first fold. If you don't have symmetry then it cannot be the answer. I'll explain it more if someone still doesn't understand it.
- Cubes: Used kaplan's method of counting all the cubes first. really helps. the more you practice the better you get.
- Pattern folding: HARDER than CDP in my opinion. Mostly because I am better at doing patterns when I have shaded ones, but a lot of what I had were not shaded and were just plain white ones.
