Hi all,

So I begin my trek again. I currently hold a B.S. in Chem and a M.Sc. in Chem. I left graduate school with about a 1.5 years left for my Ph.D for personal reasons.

So I worked in labs and then now teach. So about 2 years go I decided I wanted to be a pharmacist.

I begin taking so requisites for South but got really sick and had to put this dream on hold.

Fast forward now, 2 years later, here I go again. Except this time some classes have expired and there are a few more requisites. 8 , in fact.

It is hard on the go to be smarter than the average bear and have to take psych 101 or bio 101 again.

Plus the monetary cost especially knowing how much pharm school will cost.

Just wanted to see if there was some feedback or encouragement out there.

I would seriously consider only taking the courses at a CC. You obviously are overqualified for Pharmacy School admissions with your Msc in Chemistry (hopefully you had a decently high GPA aswell).

I think you taking the courses at CC coupled with the fact you could explain you were taking them only for the prerequisites in your personal statement.

To be honest, I don't think it'd be hard at all to take 8 pre-req courses at a CC if you basically know it all already.

You are right. I do not believe the courses will be difficult it is a matter of a bit of ego.

For instance, if I want to apply to UGA I have to have Stats, no exception. I did more stats on a daily basis as an analytical chemist that I would ever do in that class.

For UGA, Mercer or South , I have to take public speaking. I have taught in front of 200 people at UF, I gave a speech at my undergrad alumni weekend just 5 months ago, I have taught school for over 4 years. So a public speaking course seems a bit useless except for the requirement.

I mean I love learning and love taking classes but I would rather take Differential Equaitions 2 than either of these.

I mean this in a very light hearted way. I am going to take them but it does seem like a waste of money.

For South, I would need: Public speaking, Economics, Psych, Cell Bio, Ap I, AP II

For UGA, Public speaking, Economics, Psych, Stats

Mercer, some other combination

In opinions on these schools ?
