As an IMG, is there a big advantage in doing 12 weeks of electives in the US, compared to only 8?

I have 8 weeks already planned but just got an offer for another 4, which happen to be extremely inconvenient to fit in (I'd have to last minute cancel another one elsewhere).

So would the headache be worth it?

It depends on several things.
Do you want to match into that elective's specialty?
Does that hospital's residency accept IMGs or sponsor visas? (if you need one)
It may be worth taking the extra 4 weeks to spend more time with those in the hospital so that they remember you come interview season.
You can use the time to get a better LOR as well
