Has anyone been accepted having only 90 credit hours at the time of application. The reason i'm asking is I have a friend that is applying to allopathic school next year while I am applying to osteopathic school. Every time I talk to him he makes me question myself and the time table I have set up for myself. I know the minimum for application to DO school is 90 hours, by next june I will barely have the 90 and need to really take some heavy semesters to graduate by the following spring or summer semester before getting into a medical school that August. Is this the way it is typicaly done or do more people graduate, then apply?

I was accepted with about 110 hours completed and no degree earned. It can be done, but rarely is. 99% of my class had a Bachelor's, and many had a Masters as well. I had no problem getting interviews, and once accepted nobody cared (at my school) that I wasn't going to graduate. Other DO schools do require a Bachelor's, however. Call the schools you are interested in to find out more.

That is scary. I was hopeful having the degree in hand was not needed since on the aacomas application you put down the classes you are going to take and your graduation date. As a non-trad I'm already old and I don't want to wait another year till I actually have the degree paper in my hand.
