So, first of all. Congrats to everyone who successfully tackled the beast. Above all else, I think this finally brings some element of closure to the topic, at least for a little while. I was throughly impressed with the number of stellar scores for everyone on the board, but sadly this post is not meant for you.

It's for the average person who is reading this thread while studying for Step 1 or about to start studying and wondering where the hell on the perpetual bell curve they will fall.

This general info is to:
- remind others out there, like myself, who enjoyed reading the threads and seeing the feedback, but still never considered themselves to be stellar test-takers or students.
-remind others to not be discouraged by the seemingly unyielding string of 240+/99s that are out there
- National average is still 222
- that putting in a lot of hard work for step 1 can pay off.
- Set realistic goals and then be genuinely proud of accomplishing it.

Thanks for your time,
C21AK

P.S. Background for me, I just took Step 1, probably matching in medicine, went into the test hoping for 220+, ended up w/ 232.
