It's finally over!!! I've literally stalked every single post in this dang forum for the last 2 months so it's finally my turn to give back to yall!

Perceptual Ability: 20
QR: 20
Reading: 23
Bio: 19
GC: 26
OC: 27
TS: 22
AA: 23

GPA: 3.5
SGPA: 3.4

I started studying on May 18th and probably averaged around 6 solid hours of study time a day. I think all together I took 4 days completely off. I spent the first week pretty much just on bio because I knew it would be my weakest section but after that I tried to divide up every day by two sciences and one non science. Once I got about 2 weeks away from the test though, I kind of said screw it to the non-science sections and focussed solely on bio and chem.

Bio:
Used:
Cliffs, Destroyer, bootcamp (nothin new)
Honestly I'm not incredibly impressed with any of the materials I used. Obviously they all helped but there was still so much on my exam that I never saw before (i'll explain more in a sec). I read through cliffs first then did destroyer 1.5 times along with bootcamp tests. Bootcamp was really good practice but I think material wise it only taught me one relevant thing that was on my bio portion.
The test: I honestly got light headed during this section because I was getting so stressed. I know you guys probably think I'm psychotic but almost every other question I thought "what!? how am I supposed to know that!?" There was one question I actually laughed out loud at because I could not even begin to narrow down my options because I had no clue what the question was about or asking. Even though I didn't do incredibly well during bootcamp tests I would say 90% of those questions I got wrong I would think "I know I should know this, I remember reading it I just don't remember the fact" I didn't feel like that at all during the real thing though. I was just praying that I got above a 17 on this!
Disclaimer: I'm not bashing bootcamp at all, I think it is still essential for practice. I just think I got a weird test or something? 😕

Chemistry:
Used: Chads, destroyer, bootcamp
Again nothing different here. Pretty much did the same thing everyone else does. I actually didn't end up watching all of chads organic videos. I love organic chemistry and only needed to brush up on the specific reactions and lab stuff.
Originally, when I bought bootcamp a week before my exam, I bought it solely for biology. I remember being irritated that I couldn't just buy one subject. Thank GOD Ari made it this way because (as you can see by my bootcamp scores below) I was not as strong in the chemistry's as I thought. Even though destroyer was extremely useful in understanding some concepts I think you need to get bootcamp in order to see more applicable questions. Bootcamp saved my chem scores!!!

The Test: Gen chem was significantly easier than any practice test I had taken thus far. There was one application question I was 50/50 on and I must have missed it. I honestly forget what the question even was, I just remember marking it.
Organic chemistry was also really simple. I didn't get any crazy lab stuff and every reaction I had was covered by chad (none of those crazy random destroyer ones).

PAT:
Used:
Crack Pat and Bootcamp
I bought the 10 test Crack Pat package back in December hoping that I could do one practice test a month during the semester. LOLZ that didn't happen. Although I think Bootcamp was more representative of the real thing, I think crack was still essential to my performance. The first three tests I did with the software I did un-timed and I think that was really important to my understanding of the sections. If bootcamp offered a way to practice everything un-timed then I would say that's all you need.

The Test: I wouldn't go as far to say that I thought I was bombing this section but I was thinking an 18 or 19. About half of the keyholes were really simple and the other half was impossible.. there didn't seem to be an in-between. TFE seemed a little easier than bootcamp but some I just completely guessed on. I actually marked like three of the hole punches because they were so confusing!!! I was getting so frustrated and definitely lost some time here. One of the folds I could not for the life of me visualize and I still don't know how they got it. whatever. Cube counting was WAY easier than anything I had seen until my last structure had some crazy thing going on and I couldn't figure it out 🙁 Pattern folding could have been doable but I was super short on time and ended up having to guess on a few.

Reading
Used: Crack

This wasn't worth the money... I thought I needed it because back in my SAT and ACT days reading was always my lowest score but I wish I would have just used bootcamp... (I never actually used a bootcamp reading test because I bought it too late). Crack was annoying on this because it literally gives you the questions in order of the passage like questions 1 and 2 could be found in the 1st paragraph, question 3 and 4 in the second.. etc. I would just read along while answering the questions and you cannot do that on the real deal 😡

The test:
My first passage was SO boring and a little trickier than I anticipated but my second two were enjoyable and most questions could be found easily right in the passage. I finished with 5 or so minutes to spare so I went back over a couple I had marked.
The only advice I can give for this one is that if you can't find something within a minute or so just guess and mark it because there's a really good chance that you'll find the answer to that question while you're looking for another one. I did this at least 6 times during my test.

QR:
Used:
Math Destroyer, Bootcamp
Math destroyer is essential. So many questions that were similar (but easier) on my test. Bootcamp was too hard but really good for timing and for getting used to hitting that mark button!

The test:
I'm honestly a little surprised I didn't score higher... I only hiccuped on 2 questions but I was able to come back to them with the few minutes I had left at the end. Must have made some silly errors.

Practice Scores:
Bootcamp:
Bio: 19, 17, 19, 17, 21
GC: 19, 19, 20, 21, 18
OC: 17, 19, 18, 24, 23
QR: 22, 20, 20
PA: 18, 19

Crack:
PAT: 19, 19, 20, 18, 20, 20
Reading: 16, 19, 22

2007 ADA (took exactly one week before my exam)
Bio: 19
GC: 25
OC: 30
QR: 23
(didn't do PAT and QR)

That was longer than anticipated. I plan on applying to my state school and three others that are relevant to me. I'm kind of short on money so I don't really have the cash to apply to a bunch of schools like everyone says to on here but... my scores have me all excited and now I kind of want to apply to Columbia. I have really strong EC's and volunteer hours... do I have a shot there or should I just save my money??

Thanks yall! Please feel free to ask me any questions!

P.S. I will be selling my materials and there will be a post about that in the appropriate thread shortly

Great scores! My test is tomorrow, so this is great help for me.

Do you mind clearing up a couple questions that I had?

Was there a particular focus in the bio section or was it truly as random as everyone says it is?
How were angle ranking?
And are there a lot of prob/stats questions in the QR?

These are my weak areas I would say. Thanks and great job! You're a shoo in now!

Sorry if this is too late.

My bio section didn't seem to focus on any one thing.. it was very random. I honestly don't even know what subjects some of the questions were covering!

Angle ranking seemed a LOT easier than bootcamp to me! On about half of them if you could find the smallest and biggest angle you could get the right answer just from that!
I only remember one stat question for QR and it had to do with a probability curve! It was pretty simple

Great! Thanks for the reply!

Very good job. Congrats. Bio is such a broad topic. I think it is the toughest to study for.

seriously! I'm so happy with my scores and wouldn't change a thing but I'm just a tad frustrated that I spent the most time on bio and did the worst on it! For the chemistries we have Chad who basically breaks everything down into "this is what you need to know, don't worry about the rest" but we just don't have any kind of resource like that for bio 🙁
I know changing a section is a LOT easier said than done but I think the DAT needs to be more like the MCAT in bio... i.e. topics like anatomy and cell bio should be the focus rather than all of this random ecology and taxonomy nonsense. I studied with one of my best friends throughout this process who was studying for the mcat and at least once a day he would look at my bio notes and say "thank God we don't have to know that" 😡

Awesome scores 🙂 Did you happen to get any plant questions for Bio?

I got one that was sort of about photosynthesis (kind of related it to something else) but that was it! I was actually kind of bummed about this. I took a class all about plants last year (not by choice, I had an empty slot to fill and my adviser taught it so she put me in there) so I was actually super comfortable with all of that information! Oh well.

Awesome!! Congrats! I take my exam Monday morning :nailbiting: I hope I do as well as you!! Did you ever take the 2007 ADA DAT exam? I was just wondering how it compared to the actual exam.

Congrats on awesome scores!
Currently using destroyer, math destroyer, kbb, and crack dat pat!

Ahh I did and totally forgot to post those scores, I'll edit it with them now!

I thought the 2007 was very comparable to my real deal.. my scores are pretty similar too. It was definitely a tad easier but nothing super significant
